Working with Andy
Photographer. Filmmaker. Director.
All these titles essentially mean I make really effing great IMAGES.

My approach to photography is built out of a solid commitment to creating an intersection of image and story. I work with athletes, actors, performers, and real people, creating cinematic moments, dramatic action, heroic portraits, and humorous comedy moments.
I was born in New Jersey and educated in New York State. I'm currently living in Portland, Oregon, where I've been perfecting my skills in making pizza, cocktails, and beer, forging knives, playing D&D, and hiking when I can.
I CARE ABOUT YOU, AND I CARE ABOUT YOUR BRAND.
The work I feature here is the high-profile work that turns heads, but my crew and I also enjoy shooting for smaller clients, as their stories are equally as important to us. Our motto is WDFA...the polite meaning is We Don't Fool Around. Do you see where I'm going with that?

TESTIMONIALS
Andy's fantastic. Not only is he a super-talented photographer, he's also an amazing individual to be around. Our Nike shoot was in Portland during the worst possible weather for two days. Yet Andy and his team managed to pull off stunning results. If Andy were an eBay seller, I'd give him A++++++++ and buy from him again. If we were in prison, I'd protect him in the shower. Yeah, Andy's that cool, and he loves spicy foods.
Lance Wei: Associate Creative Director
I worked with Andy on a hand full of hi-profile assignments for the NFL and Verizon Sponsorships. I can't say enough about how talented, professional, efficient, energetic, and smart his group is. Not to mention, they are just a blast to work with. Andy leaves his ego at the door and welcomes opinions and creative collaboration. As an Art Director and designer, this was most important to me. Andy and his team are great problem solvers. The creative process isn't an exact science, and sometimes problems need to be solved on the fly, and audibles need to be called. This team figures out ways, gets it done, and gets it done right.
Marc DelVecchio: Design Director
Andy is a top-tier photographer, a master of his craft; he continues to evolve and push his work in new directions to share new approaches in bringing great ideas to life. I've over the years, worked with Andy and have valued his and his team's impeccable attention to detail, thorough planning, open communication, and genuine zeal for what they do.
Megan Hadley Miller: Director of Client Services
I've worked with Andy and his amazing team on some crucial, high-profile projects, and have been thrilled and inspired one hundred percent of the time. Andy wraps his head around the big idea with you, even geeks out about it with you. He quickly reaches an understanding of the broader picture to establish his approach to the project. He then brings that special magic that takes everything up a couple of notches and makes your ideas even better! Andy has talent and knowledge of photography in spades. The unsurpassed dedication and professionalism from his entire team make it a positive experience to work with them.
Jeff Dooley: Creative Director
Andy brings a creative take to everything he shoots that helps elevate the project. He can work with the most difficult and eccentric talent and create imagery that tells a story.
Lonnie Silberling: Integrated Creative Director & Consultant
In my experiences working with Andy, I've found he is an effective and balanced creative thinker. He humbly utilizes his technical and creative knowledge to create work that never fails to stun. For any project where you want character out of your subjects, with a good splash of magic that makes that character larger than life, I'd recommend Andy in a heartbeat.
John Petrina: Video Producer
Andy Batt is not only a genius behind the camera but a true collaborator as well. Having worked with several photographers and creative directors in various capacities, I can confidently say that this is a hard combo to come by. Andy's entire team is smart, thoughtful, creative, passionate, and resourceful, and their dedication to the highest level of quality is unwavering. Not to mention the fact that working with them is pure fun. I can speak for the entire team at HMH Agency when I say how much we enjoy working with Andy and his crew!
Julie Ditter: Senior Project Manager
I've hired Andy as a professional photographer for my advertising agency. He is a pleasure to work with. Creatively, he always brings a fresh eye and plenty of ideas to make the work better and richer. He is an excellent partner in concepting and executing the work to the needs of his clients. I feel completely taken care of the entire time. All details are discussed and decided upon before the shoot begins. I know that everything is buttoned up. When I arrive at the shoot, I know that all I have to do is be a creative partner. Between Andy and Therese, any surprise is handled with efficiency, and the solution is come to quickly. The shoots I have done with Andy have been the smoothest and most pleasant I have ever done. Hire him. You will not regret it.
Patti Bateman: Design Director
When choosing a photographer, it's all about who has the style and know-how you need—and there's no question that Andy has the skills, resources, and passion for taking a project beyond what you thought possible. But the extra special, gigrundo bonus of working with Andy is that he is almost impossibly affable remaining calm, focused, and a joy to be around even on, say, the 20th hour of a film shoot. Our projects were improved immeasurably by his world-class photographic talent, but not hindered by a world-class ego. I don't mean to disparage you without having met you, but if you don't hire him, you're nuts.
